*NEW One Hour Micro Classes*

- What Is A Micro-Course? A Micro-Course in a class developed by the World Center For Concrete Technology and is delivered over the internet either in a Live format or a Video On Demand format. The courses are comprised of PowerPoint presentations, video clips, graphs and charts as well as an interactive chat area which you can ask a question for the instructor to answer (Live format only).

- How Do I Enroll Into A Micro- Course? After each course layout and description you will see a "Click HereTo Register" link. Click on it and fill out the appropriate fields and submit that information and we will be contacting you.

- Which Micro-Course Is Right For Me? Browse through the list and familiarize yourself with the descriptions and choose based on your educational needs. Are you just looking for a fundamentals class or are you looking for more detailed service and maintainence education on a unit such as the Besser V3-12? As always feel free to contact us a the WCCT for any further questions.

- What Equipment Do I Need To Have For The Course? You will need a computer (Laptop or Desktop) with either built-in speakers or external speakers, and a reliable internet broadband connection. Please consult our Bandwidth Test Page for further system specs and updates.

 

  • $75 courses are Live Streaming Webinars and include Question and Answer segments with an instructor.

  • $50 courses are recorded versions of the live webinar.

  • All classes must be pre-paid before student receives Login information.
  •  An email address is provided for students to submit questions to the instructor to respond to at a later date.

  •  All Live Courses start at 1:30 p.m. EST

  • MICRO-COURSE BANDWIDTH TEST - see if your Internet connection will support video streaming.

  • Please allow a 5-day processing time. You can pick any date and time, Monday - Friday that is at least one week from today; for example if today is May 1st training can occur on or after May 8th.

Aggregate Sieve Analysis Procedures (MICRO COURSE)

Course Type: Non-credit
This micro course will cover ASTM procedures for conducting a sieve analysis of both coarse and fine aggregate used in concrete production. Participants will see how to select the required sieve sizes, run the test, and complete required calculations.

This micro class will explain in-depth the Besser Automatic Feed mechanism, the Auto Feed Time Adjust procedures and the Air Compaction device. The student will learn the mechanical and electrical functions for these devices.

This micro class will cover the timers and their functions of a Besser Block machine. The student will have knowledge on Feed, Finish, Delay and Strip Delay timers and the Vibrapac series machines.

This micro class will cover the mechanical changeover from and 7 5/8” height products to 3 5/8” height products. The student will learn the basics of machine changeover and the techniques that are required to run 1/2-high products.

This micro class will help students understand sieve analysis, gradations of aggregates, mixing procedure, moisture compensation and blending.  The student will learn the calculations and mathematical instructions for these mix designs.

This micro course will introduce students to the basics of concrete from materials used in production to its various properties, both plastic and hardened. This course will also give participants basic concrete nomenclature to assist them in talking “concrete.”

This course consists of video clips, live presentations and live student-instructor interaction. Students will be shown the correct procedures for pallet timing on a Besser V3-12 block machine.

This micro class will entail discussion and a power point presentation on mold components, manufactures specifications and why we need to comply with those specifications.  Also covered will be practical, hands-on application with torque requirements and the actual process of rebuilding a mold will be shown.

Placing an Attachment in a Besser V3-12 (2 part course) (MICRO COURSE)

This micro class will entail placing a standard mold into a V3-12 block machine.  All adjustments will be discussed as well as shown in the practical application of these adjustments.  Techniques discussed will enable the student to produce a saleable unit on the first cycle after a typical mold change.

Proper Sampling of Concrete Aggregates (MICRO COURSE)

This micro course will take participants through the proper ASTM procedures of sampling concrete aggregates as well as splitting these field samples for laboratory evaluation.  Various sampling and splitting procedures will be covered along with examples of test result variations caused by sampling technique.
